Someone once asked...

When I lack the will to eat properly, get enough sleep, or otherwise help my mind function, how can I make progress? I feel stuck in a cycle of inability.

Someone answered with kindness...

I believe that it’s not necessary for you to wait until you’re motivated before you begin making progress; at times you merely need to take a small step even if you don’t feel like doing anything—such as eating something, having some sleep, going outside for a little while, or having a conversation with someone. You needn’t try to sort out all the problems at once, but should instead concentrate on getting through one small thing at a time. And if you’ve been in this state for a long time and are having difficulty even with simple tasks, you have no need to face it by yourself—instead you can talk to someone you trust or consider seeking some professional assistance.
