“my friend was wearing a jacket with a zipper and they had it loosely on around them. i asked to hug them and they said yes. so i hugged them and put my arms under their jacket(and over their shirt) because the zipper would be uncomfortable and the jacket would be lumpy because it wasnt fully on.
this was called out by someone near us as weird and kind of sexual how i just immiedetely put my hands under their clothes. this person was kind of an idiot but the friend i was hugging's boyfriend was also there and i think i made them uncomfortable.
for more context i have sensory issues with fabric and i have discussed before with this friend that it would be okay for me to hug them with my hands under their shirt if i was overwhelmed and specified that, so it's not like this friend was the one who had an issue with it.
i just think it would have been physically awkward to hug them over the jacket, like the jacket was half an inch away from my hands when i hugged them. idk maybe it was innapropriate.”

Reading this felt like I was the one who wrote it, as a fellow overthinker and someone who ruminates for days; I want to tell you that none of what you described seems inappropriate to me. You already had communicated about your sensory issues with your friend and the said friend didn't have a problem which is all that matters. If someone saw a perfectly normal hug and said that it was sexual, it was on them not you or your friend. People have different thresholds of physical affection and I do not think your friend or their boyfriend are going to think much of it, since your friend knows you. And if you truly cannot get over this, you can just talk to your friend about it.
