Someone once asked...

“Its diwali today. As usual the arguments are still there. What I'm disappointed about is how my mom is always never happy with whatever I do. She tells me to learn something or do something and when I do it she doesn't react but when I can't do something she starts nagging me. She barely appreciates. Even though i know she loves me as much as I do but it doesn't hurt to appreciate ur own child for what they're good at and whatever they've achieved so far.”

Someone answered with kindness...

Calmly sit in a place with your mom and explain to her that you feel hurt when she does this way. Tell her that it's better if you both live peacefully and ask her to be honest and trust you that you will succeed and achieve and tell her it's fine to be like this but tell her to be gentle because her behavior is affecting your mental and emotional state. Validate her and comfort her that it is fine to worry. Even if she doesn't change, don't take the things seriously and ground your energy by doing the things you like.

Another soul answered...

Hi, Have you appreciated your mother for the things she does? How can you expect a person to be appreciative of others (even if it's her own child) when everything she does is taken for granted. You could probably start by thanking her, even hugging her and then you'll see things shift, slowly but definitely. It's about reciprocity.

Apparently every time I talk (not yelling) I sound annoyed and people keep pointing it out. How do I fix this?I knew moving to a different country wasn’t going to be a wonderland. I wasn’t expecting everything to be easy or perfect. I knew there would be challenges, uncomfortable situations and days when things wouldn’t go as planned. I mentally prepared myself for that before making the decision to leave. But I guess some experiences are difficult to prepare for. The subtle racism, the little comments, the looks and certain interactions that make you feel different or unwelcome. It’s not always direct, and sometimes it’s difficult to explain why something bothered you, but it stays with you. On top of that, things haven’t really turned out the way I imagined. I’ve been feeling increasingly lonely, and navigating everything on my own can be mentally exhausting. It’s not that I expected life abroad to be perfect; I knew it would take effort to build a life here. But I didn’t expect certain experiences to affect me this much. I’m trying to adapt, keep going and not let individual incidents get to me, but some days it’s just a lot to process. I suppose I’m struggling more with the emotional side of this experience than I ever anticipated.hi. im a 16yr old girl whos struggling. everyone thinks im perfect and that i have no problems, but ive been feeling depressed and hurting myself since august. i dont know whats actually wrong, but i just want someone to see through me and mean it when they ask "are you okay?"
