“I have a friend whose company I genuinely enjoy, and I’m emotionally attached to him, but certain aspects of his behaviour bother me, particularly dishonesty, inconsistency and dismissiveness.
There’s also a mutual female friend involved. He sometimes speaks negatively about her and tells me things that suggest he doesn’t trust her, yet he continues maintaining a close equation with her. I’ve noticed inconsistencies in what he tells both of us, which makes me question his honesty and intentions.
I’ve tried communicating my concerns, but he tends to dismiss them, change the subject or avoid addressing the actual issue. Afterwards, he behaves normally, as though nothing happened.
The confusing part is that I genuinely like him and don’t want to lose the friendship, but I also don’t want to keep overlooking things that affect my trust.
Should I maintain the friendship with some emotional distance and adjusted expectations, or is it healthier to step away? Am I expecting too much by wanting honesty and accountability from a friend?”

Someone answered with kindness...
You're not expecting much bro. He's a piece of crap and I suggest you to end the friendship before you get more feelings
