I think it depends on what you mean by "contributing to society." If you don't have to work, then you don't necessarily need to, but you should contribute to society in the sense that you should help others and generally be a positive force instead of a negative one (which often people who accumulate large amounts of money are). Even if you don't find fulfillment from helping others (which if true I think that you should.... maybe reflect a bit more on that), it's ultimately in your self-interest to help others, as do unto others as they would do unto you etc etc etc.
