Someone once asked...

“Why do I keep overthinking every conversation after it ends?”

✦

Someone answered with kindness...

Someone once told me they replayed a five-minute conversation for three days. Three days, for five minutes. I asked what they were hoping to find. They said, "Proof that I didn't sound stupid." Here's the uncomfortable truth: the other person probably stopped thinking about it before they'd even reached their car. We are, almost all of us, too busy narrating our own lives to spend much time editing yours. The tape keeps playing because you haven't given yourself permission to stop it, not because there's anything left to find.

It's normal to chew it in your mind. Start caring less for what people think. If you did something wrong - they had opportunity to say it. Be kind to yourself.

You are not confident in your true self. You must be okay with who you are before you can find ways to improve what you say
