Someone once asked...

Why do I keep chasing happiness but never feel satisfied?

Someone answered with kindness...

A man once asked me how much money would finally be enough. I said, "A little more than you have now." He laughed. Then he realized I wasn't joking. That's the trap with happiness too — it's always priced at "a little more than what I have now." You get the promotion, and two weeks later you're eyeing the next one. You get the relationship, and you start scanning for what's missing. Nothing is wrong with wanting more. But if satisfaction always lives one step ahead of you, it will always live one step ahead of you. At some point you have to stop and ask: what would it feel like to want what's already in your hands?
