Someone once asked...

Why do I keep apologizing for things that aren't my fault?

Someone answered with kindness...

Maybe you lived around people that made you feel responsible for things that were not your fault to begin with, and that voice still lingers around. The first step to change is recognizing that it wasn't in control, and the next one might be to verbalize that to yourself until you feel secure in that belief. Or maybe your empathy is shining through? The feeling of "I wish I could change the environment so this other person feels better" can feel like you personally are the one that should make them feel better, and that you fail at it because you arent doing it. Don't fall into the trap of thinking yourself an all powerful being that should fix others lives, that is a thankless job and puts ideas of power and control on you that you as an individual don't hold. There is no clear why except the one in your heart. Be kind to it and mostly, to yourself. You got this

Maybe someone in your past made you feel like you had to be un-threatening to be safe? You don't have to apologise for things that aren't your fault, and you're allowed to stand up for your truth <3 Speaking to a professional can help with this, it's okay to ask for help!
