Someone once asked...

Why do i feel empty after achieving my goals

Someone answered with kindness...

Achieving goals for the sake of them is not progress. It's about the work and path you are on, and goals are just roadsigns along that path, informing you that you are going the right direction. If you set a goal and achieve it, and you didn't want to be on that path at all, then you were not achieving goals--you were on a detour. There are many detours in life. You can call them expectations you have to meet, constraints placed upon you without your consent, or requirements you have to meet that enable the path you want to be on. If goals are hollow, then you were only focused on the destination, or you were not on the right path.
