Someone once asked...

Why do I feel disconnected from everyone, even when I'm busy?

Someone answered with kindness...

A woman once told me she talked to twenty people a day and felt unseen by all of them. I asked what those conversations were about. Logistics, she said. Plans. Check-ins. Nothing real. Contact is not the same as connection. You can exchange a hundred messages and still not be known. Real connection needs a different kind of exchange — not information, but attention. Not "what's happening" but "how are you, actually, underneath what's happening." Busy hands don't always mean a full heart.
