Someone once asked...

Why do I compare myself to everyone?

Someone answered with kindness...

Comparison is the mind's attempt to find safety in a world it cannot control. When you compare yourself to others, you are contrasting your raw, unedited internal reality with their polished external display. You see their highlights; you feel your own doubts. It is an unfair trade every single time. Notice when the urge to compare arises, and gently shift your focus. Another person’s light does not dim your own, just as two flowers blooming side by side do not compete for the sun. The only meaningful comparison is between who you were yesterday and who you choose to be today.
