Perhaps the idea of getting close to someone in an intimate way seems scary to you. It's probably a good idea to reflect on why, but my guess is that seeking deeper connections oftentimes involves being emotionally vulnerable. Maybe you've had people in your life who've previously exploited your vulnerable moments and you're scared someone you date will do the same. Or maybe it's just scary to open up in general because you're a private individual by nature. Maybe you're being pressured to get into a relationship but you just simply don't feel the need to but you need to have a valid excuse to give to others. Regardless of it's fear or social pressure, my condolences :(

people and relationships are not tasks to be accomplished so maybe working too much makes it difficult to enjoy the moment. work sometimes is more pleasurable because you know what to do and expect. that is essentially different to date or seek deeper connections, the pleasures come in different ways and moments
