It has to do with merit and how you perceive it. Everybody is worth of love. Just remember that. You don't really earn love. You can buy, in some very abstract sense, but earning it, is not what love does (it's a free gift).

well the truth is you don't have to earn love so if you feel like you have to maybe the love you trying to earn isn't real love and the real love won't make you feel like you have to earn it

Because every single movie, novel, and game has the protagonist earning a love interest and you psychologically believe it's the norm to earn love at some point. Relax. You are fine as you are.
