Someone once asked...
Someone answered with kindness...
I once watched a woman drink tea while reading messages on her phone, planning tomorrow's schedule in her head. The tea got cold. She never tasted it. That's most of us, most days. Not absent from our lives — just somewhere else while they happen. I won't tell you to "be present," that phrase is worn smooth from overuse and means nothing anymore. Try something smaller: next time you drink something, just drink it. Nothing else. See how long you last before your mind wanders off. A few seconds, probably. That's fine. That's the practice — not succeeding, just noticing, and coming back.
