Honestly, yes love does not see any age but you cant go on liking 10 year old in my opinion the maximum age gap between a healthy couple should be 5 years at MAX but if you both are old enough then age shouldnt even be a question. If you feel a connection that you will not with anyone else then you shouldnt care about what people or the world will think cuz haters will hate.

Depends on how young they are.. but if the age difference not more then 5 I think confessing shouldn’t be the first step But making them comfortable around you and becoming there friend should be a start.. once they are comfortable may be you could.
