well if you want the non-religious answer, it's to reproduce and keep your species alive. But just remember something. you only get one life. so whenever you're brought up with a now-or-never situation, might as well do it. Because after you die, no one really cares about you except for your immediate family and friends. I mean think about it. Do you know you great-grandfather's full name? do you know their crushes, their life dreams, their passions, their Hobbies, their favorite foods? Do you know their story? I know. Crazy how little you know about your close relative. Now imagine how many people from the entire world care about you, let alone even know you.
