That question is flawed, there's no meaning, and you already know that. The real question is "why do I feel empty because of the fact that life has no meaning?". And the answer is because you're a human, and humans are pattern matching creatures. We've survived because we've been trying to explain everything we've ever encoutered for millenia. Something happens > there must be a reason > find the cause > cause helps predict what happens next.
