Someone once asked...

“We were in a relationship for almost two years and were deeply involved. At one point, my girlfriend told me that her sister was reading our private chats, which made me uncomfortable communicating freely with her. Later, my girlfriend started explaining that her parents weren't accepting our relationship. She cried while explaining the situation, and I suggested giving her parents some time and reducing our communication. Within two days, her sister called me and rudely demanded that I end the relationship. When I questioned her about knowing our relationship, she claimed she didn't know about it. My girlfriend was standing beside her and laughing, which hurt me. The next day, I said I would come and speak to her family. Instead, her sister contacted my father and sent him screenshots of my messages, accusing me of forcing my girlfriend. I also called her friend to understand what was happening, but she spoke rudely too. Eventually, I went to my girlfriend's house. Her sister and brother read out our private chats and questioned my character, education and lifestyle. They insulted me, called me a psycho, made degrading remarks, and even said, "Give his money back; he'll go and drink alcohol." My girlfriend was recording me while everyone was confronting me. Feeling cornered and unheard, I said something in anger about revealing what we had done and showing screenshots to her father. I admit those statements were wrong, but I never exposed our intimate details or deliberately damaged her character. I clarified the accusation about videos, apologized, deleted her pictures, and left. Eventually, I broke down and cried in front of her family. My father also came and witnessed what happened. The next day, my girlfriend sent me a message apologizing, acknowledging that she had failed to convince her parents, and saying that I had protected her at one point. She later forgave me and thanked me for protecting her privacy. We met again, hugged and kissed, but eventually she decided to end the relationship and asked for distance. I genuinely wanted to build a life with her. I accept my mistakes, but I also feel deeply hurt by the way the situation was handled and by not receiving direct communication from her.”
