Someone once asked...

“We used to be bestfriends, but slowly i noticed that whenever i got hurt, I kept quiet to save the friendship and the bond. I used to think its a childish thing to get upset over, I shouldn't bring it up. But what I did not realise was that these things kept happening on a loop and everything got bottled up inside me. And now I feel so detached, even if we talk its mostly surface level. I'm highly observant and can sense emotional changes and changes in behaviours pretty quickly. In none of my friedships, I feel like the efforts are being reciprocated. I love them more than myself but end up getting a reality check. What should I do? This empath and observant nature of mine is getting in way of my relationships. But tell me is it wrong to want the other person to understand me as much as i do?”

😭😭😭couldn't relate more . I am going through the exact same thing with my best friend , I have anxiously attached to her . And whenever I am hurt I keep quiet cuz I also feel that it would be childish to bring my problems up . Its always me who listens and asks follow up questions and actually show that I am care and it kills me everytime . It isn't wrong to expect from the other person when u do somuch for them

it's normal to want equal effort and understanding. it's not fair to get mad at them for breaking a boundary you never set. if it makes you upset you should talk about it with your friends even if youre overreacting.
