Once I was trying to buy water at a gas station, but was going through a hard time. I was a few cents off and the casher wouldn't let be buy it. The person behind me in line not only paid for my water, but also gave me their phone number in case I ever needed anything. I said thank you, but couldn't afford a phone. Years later, when I finally could afford one and bought it, I texted them and asked "Why? Why would you help a stranger like me?" They replied and simply said "Why does the dolphin help the sailor lost at sea? Because it can. That's why I did it. Because I could."
