“So there's this guy from college whom I'll call Travel Guy. We used to travel together regularly and had become pretty comfortable with each other. He could be really sweet and thoughtful when we were alone. He'd tease me, sometimes get protective when another guy bothered me, interrupt calls to point out that I was travelling with him, and even replay songs I'd introduced him to while watching my reaction. He also used to call me "ben", and on one occasion, completely out of nowhere, he said, "Don't mind, I call my girlfriend ben too." I hadn't even questioned him about it. There were also moments when I genuinely felt he didn't want me to stop travelling with him. But he had a girlfriend, and things eventually got complicated because she became uncomfortable with us travelling together, particularly because of the front-seat situation. The funny thing is that whenever she came along, I'd usually be the one asking her to sit in the front seat. I never had an issue with that, but somehow I still ended up feeling blamed for the situation. I never wanted to interfere in their relationship or become a third person, so I eventually stopped travelling with him and distanced myself. Honestly, I didn't want to end the friendship; I just wanted things to be normal without unnecessary drama. Even after I stopped travelling with him, he'd occasionally approach me in college, ask where I was posted, greet me or find reasons to interact. Recently, he was quite careless about returning something I needed, which frustrated me. Another time, I called him to ask about a mutual friend, and when he found out why I'd called, he became unusually serious and irritated, almost as if he didn't like me asking him about that person. Now I genuinely don't understand his behaviour. I wasn't romantically pursuing him; I actually valued the friendship we had. I just can't figure out whether he misses how things used to be, didn't want me to stop being part of his daily routine, expects the same attention from me despite everything, or whether there's something else going on. I never wanted such a simple friendship to become this complicated.”

it is good to leave this friendship since his girl is not comfortable either and he is reacting this way to you. also he should not be this close to you since he already have a girlfriend and she did not liked him and you hanging out like this

what u did was good but being a person who has gone through a situation like this I would like to suggest u that he is doing what u did to him u said that u distant him from u maybe that's why he is so angry with u who knows that even he was taking ur stand in front of his girlfriend but at last u were the one that distant away from that and what I am getting out of ur story i believe that there was something romantic at some point or time you don't think it's love but what about his side dear go ask him and try to sort evrything because what u did was actually good and that was the thing that has to be done at some point of time ask him to catch-up with u again and try solve all this with him.
