Someone once asked...

“So, I met this guy on Bumble. We didn't talk for two days after matching, but then he messaged me and we started talking. Let me tell you, he talks A LOT. He started telling me about his travelling experiences and all that. Then he insisted that we exchange our Instagram IDs, so we did. He started sending me reels, including a few couple reels and stuff. But honestly, I hadn't developed any feelings by then. I take time to get comfortable with someone, you know? Also, there's an eight-year age gap between us. He's in his early thirties, and I'm in my early twenties. He used to call me on Instagram, and we would talk. He told me about his life goals, family, friends and what he wanted in life. His family is very important to him. Eventually, he asked for my phone number, and I gave it to him. We talked over the phone for almost two weeks, and honestly, he was the best guy I'd ever spoken to. Whenever he was busy, he would inform me. I once asked him, "You're so perfect, why are you still single?" He told me that his last relationship was in 2024, and they broke up. Since then, he's been focusing on his work. He also told me that he was looking for marriage but could wait another four to five years. His parents were insisting that he get married, but he said it was ultimately his decision. Then he suggested that we video call. I'm a very reserved person, and I only FaceTime my friends. So instead, I told him that we should meet because I wanted to see if our vibes matched in person rather than just over the phone. He agreed, but he never showed up. He made excuses. What's confusing is that he was the one who initially suggested meeting and said he would come. He said it almost three times, but he never actually showed up. I'm sure he's not catfishing me, but I genuinely don't understand why he never showed up when he was the one making those plans. After that, he gradually started ghosting me. No texts, no calls, but he would still send me reels and react to my stories. Honestly, it was getting really irritating. He would call me once a week, and I kept asking him what we actually were, but he never gave me any clarity. He would mostly call to talk about his problems. He had so much going on in his life, with his family and work. And whenever I questioned him, he would say things like, "You won't understand. You're so young." I mean, you knew my age from the very beginning. Why did you even start talking to me if my age was going to be an issue? The last time, I asked him why he had even started talking to me if he was going to behave like this. He didn't reply. I know this is already getting long, and there's a lot more I could add, but I'll leave it here. After that, I never contacted him again. Why do people do such shitty things?”
