Someone once asked...

“So I got married by my choice but my parents did not approve, however they supported me. After wedding I saw the reality. My ex and his family tortured me, especially emotionally. First few months I did not tell my parents. I finally did. They never said that I should leave him because I loved him, however I realised how they were disrespecting my parents. After a point I couldn't take it. Especially the comments on my parents. My parents tried to resolve things but I decided to come back. Throughout the processor separation they were kind of supportive. But every now and then, my father says stuff like "we got you back, be grateful." Or "I got you married, my responsibility was over, but you came back. Be grateful and don't complain about little things." And other taunts. It comes when we have a fight about anything random. Today he even said "I feel shameful of being your parent." It just feels so sad. I am grateful for everything but I also want to be able to live in the house without these taunts. Anytime I say things or do things, I would like to believe it is my house too.”
