“So basically at work today we were discussing who should sign up for events coming up and my team has managers who have reportees
so when the superboss fixed the names he only chose(actually pushed) people to participate from my team and another manager's team
she silently told me "look he didnt force members from that other manager's team" "tell the super boss"
I made a mistake and became the voice i said it in a fun tone that all those standing here have a complaint that you didnt pick the other manager's team and then the superboss was like okay i will ask them to participate too
i am worried that the rumour might spread that i instigated the super boss to give names from that team when i didnt even notice
it was stupid of me to say i should have been smarter and told her if you have a problem you say it
but i didnt (maybe a lesson for next time) but i am a little worried word could go around about me”

I understand your concern, but don’t worry—we’re all adults here. Anyone can make a mistake, and people are generally capable of understanding when someone else makes one. It’s really nothing serious; if anyone happens to talk about you or say something, you can just explain the situation exactly as it happened, and they’ll understand—no problem at all. Though, honestly, I don’t think anyone will even question you about it. Good luck!

People will always judge you regardless of what you say and if you care about what people think who won't do want to do you will avoid it thinking what the other person will think about you and result is avoiding taking action.
