Someone once asked...

“Remorse is eating away at me. How do you cope?”

✦

Someone answered with kindness...

If you did something bad, try to think of ways to make it right. Be aware that forgiveness or restoration is not guaranteed. Be also conscious of how much moving in any direction could affect you or others and what are you willing to sacrifice. On another hand if it’s something that can’t be undone or something already resolved, move on, guilt is not a solution, forgive yourself and be aware of how bad it was but also of how it’s in the past, being able to take accountability without living with guilt is extremely freeing. And if it’s remorse for not doing something, just remember that you still have a present and a future, you lived and acted accordingly to your priorities and mindset at the time. That is something that can’t be undone but can be understood. And just remember a phrase: “(God/Universe/entity of your choice) Give me serenity to accept the things I can’t change, courage to change the things I can and wisdom to recognize the difference between them”
