Someone once asked...

“Okay so this has been on mu mind for quite a while now, I started college this year and I met a guy about 1½ months after starting and well we hit it off quite well. We both confessed our growing attraction towards one another and I obviously expected some sort of commitment or relationship but he wants to 'go with the flow'. I won't lie he's been putting a lot of effort in our situation, like getting me gifts and coming all the way to my house just to spend an hour with me, he let's along with my mother, I can reach out to him whenever I feel disturbed and he helps me a lot with studies but still I feel that it's all kind of lacking without a lable. I've explicitly told me about my concern about two to three times and everytime we had this long conversation about not pushing it and then I've hinted several times but he doesn't want to proceed. We do face conflicts every now and then about the commitment part, then because he's not the kind of person who's attached to his phone so him not responding to my calls and texts and about him not initiating affection. But everytime we did he did his best to fix it and just for a little background check, I've never dated before in my life and yes I've been avoiding the hard things that come with dating so this is all very new to me. I know and appreciate his effort but am I wrong to want commitment?”

Someone answered with kindness...

Look, wanting commitment is not wrong rn. You've been wanting label because it shows that y'all are smth beyond just words and actions. He might've helped you a lot, put in efforts and all. But I suggest trying not to think emotionally and ask him that why does he not want the label. A clear Convo could make it make sense. If he says he's not ready yet, then ig you have to respect it. But jus know, they can leave tomorrow if they like. Take care out there.
