Hi, Sorry to hear about that. Ok, let's look at the positives here; He is your friend, a very close one and someone who has motivated you to do better. I'm assuming he is also an understanding person. This makes room for you to solve this issue. I have one question that need you to answer, what is the reason(s) behind you underperforming. I usually journal this sort of things so it gives me a clearer picture. You can try that or talk to someone, even a professional if works. Try to understand what is behind this. And then you can have a conversation about it with your friend. If he is such a good friend then I'm sure he'll be empathetic and understanding. And also keep in mind that being the president , he is most likely under immense pressure to deliver, so that might be the reason he won't like underperforming. So to sum it up, Find the reasons why you are under pressure and underperforming. Try to talk about it with your friend, and assure him how you are working on it and will show the improvement. This is top of my head from the limited context. I really hope things work out well for you. Bye, take care.

Don't overthink it. Reach out to him as a friend. Catch up and slowly talk about your worries. If he's truly a great friend, he'll definitely understand you and clear all worries and doubts. Talk to him about work and mental health. Communication always helps. Good luck! Hope it all works out well ♡
