Someone once asked...

I've been on many dates recently and on paper everyone is great, but I don't feel anything. Why is that?

Someone answered with kindness...

The first few dates are basically for figuring out if you want to go on the next date (the first date especially). Not feeling anything aside from generic/vague attraction is pretty normal. Given all of the complexity of life, a textual abstract or resume is a pretty frought medium for determining how great someone is *for you* regardless of their nominal qualifications. It takes time and shared experience to develop a personal bond.
