“I'm trying really hard to become financially independent, but I'm confused about which direction to take.
I've started learning video editing and looking for international clients. However, I keep questioning whether it's worth pursuing because AI tools and cloud-based platforms are becoming so advanced. People can now generate impressive edits using AI, and sometimes I feel like investing so much time in editing might not lead to a stable income.
Another major problem is that I don't own a laptop. I can only use my sister's laptop for around four hours on weekdays and barely get access to it on weekends. This makes practising, learning and completing client projects very difficult.
I want to earn around $150–200 per month initially and gradually increase my income.
Does video editing still have a future for beginners? And more importantly, are there realistic ways to earn online using only a smartphone? I'd appreciate specific skills, platforms or services that people have genuinely made money from. I don't mind starting small; I just need a practical direction.”
