Someone once asked...

“I'm 18, and I'm a sensitive person. We met at university, and we've been talking for almost three to three and a half months. Somewhere along the way, I got attached to him. We became really close, almost like best friends. We used to share everything with each other, and I genuinely put a lot of effort into this connection. He used to talk to me so nicely, flirt with me, and make me feel special. We were never officially in a relationship; it was more like a situationship. But I still got emotionally attached. For the past two days, he hasn't been replying to my messages. Last night, I finally confronted him and asked if something was wrong or if there was any problem. He told me that he's disturbed, stressed, and unwell. Later, when I texted him again, he said he wasn't in a good situation. But what confuses me is that he's still active on Snapchat. He keeps sending me snaps and maintaining our streak, but he doesn't actually make an effort to reply to my messages or have a proper conversation with me. I don't know what to think. I know we've only been talking for a few months, but I've become so attached to him. His absence genuinely feels strange, like something is missing from my life. I don't know how to explain it, but I miss the way things used to be.”

Someone answered with kindness...

I can only imagine what you're going through, and I know it can be hard. Maybe he's still active on Snapchat because he doesn't want others to know that he's going through something. Maybe ask if you can help him through whatever he's going through? but since he cant have a proper conversation maybe he wont. I had a situation that may help you. A few years ago , I was like that with my best friend. Suddenly, they started acting distant and getting closer with other people, and that really hurt me. It took me a while to realize that I had become overly reliant on this person. so I started expanding my circle, working on myself. don't get me wrong it was HARD. but it had to be done. people won't always be in your life, you have to get used to that its the reality of life. but then again it may just be a phase and he may just need a break. Just don't count on things going back to normal. All the Best!
