Someone once asked...

“If a person voluntarily chooses an irrational life, does society have the right to intervene?”

✦

Someone answered with kindness...

If society helped the person to have a better/rational life once or multiple times and the person still chooses an irrational life, the society doesn't have to intervene since they did their "part" It's the decision of the person to decide what should they do with their life and action

Another soul answered...

I would say no? I think society would absolutely try to intervene but at the end of the day, it's that person's choice and we cannot do anything about it, society could TRY to change their mind, of course, but it's always up to the person who is living the irrational life to make the decision and change. I think if they have a mental disorder or disability (or anything else) that is causing them to choose that life, things get more trickier and I would say there's a lot more validity in intervening. Would I say that it should be forceful? I'm not sure, If you were living an irrational life would you want people to intervene?
