Yes, but that doesn't mean it's the wrong choice. I make almost no money. Nobody goes "hey monk, let me give you all the monies" I am okay without that money, without the security it can provide. Sometimes I would quite like to trade my position for yours. Perhaps my position is also stupid. Is it more stupid? I don't know.

Thats usually the common approach people take in life. Maintain this job for however long you need to get the job resume experience up and see if you can find something else thats either easier with same pay.
