Someone once asked...

“I think I'm getting transphobic? I'm a very queer person and have had trans loved ones that I have fully accepted. From many personal experiences and from what I've seen in online communities, trans people(in general) treat anyone queerer than them really badly. It's not that theyre trans and theyre seperatly acting horrible, it's always related to them being trans. I thought I was something close to trans and have watched many "are you trans," "my trans experience," etc. videos to try to understand, but i don't. I thought I didn't understand the queer community culture, but once I found some labels I started finding places then I perfectly understood odd queer cultures, I just didn't understand the gay/trans/drag culture that's more mainstream; it's not that some are better, i just felt unincluded for so long and thought it was my fault. The main transphobic thing I feel is that whenever I see a trans flag displayed I just have this sinking feeling that I'm not welcome and I feel like they shouldn't have it up. Like the vars*x or genderqueer flag would include them too and it feels like people are cutting out this one identity to stand behind to be "inclusive" but it's just the tip of the iceberg and they don't understand.”

Someone answered with kindness...

You are generalizing trans people, and you are likely looking at negative stuff of trans people which is warping your views on said people, and what you are saying is that they are bad people because they are trans, which is not true in many cases. It also could be due to the fact why the trans people you interact with always turn out to be bad people could be because they are the ones facing the most hate right now in the world. Despite being just one percent of the population. I'm not trying to make excuses if the said trans people were actually like really bad, I'm just explaining. I think you should ask your trans loved ones about stuff you are unsure of, or confused on, as they can likely tell you their experience. Which can make you more inform on stuff you were unsure about before. I would also like to point out that the trans umbrella isnt just one identity, as muitlple identitys fall under the trans umbrella, such as non-binary, genderfluid, and many more. I think you should just do more reseach on more identitys, to be more informed and such, and I'm sorry you don't feel include.
