“I think I'm getting transphobic? I'm a very queer person and have had trans loved ones that I have fully accepted until recently. From many personal experiences and from what I've seen in online communities, trans people(in general) treat anyone queerer than them really badly. I thought I was something close to trans and have watched many "are you trans," "my trans experience," etc. videos and I don't understand or relate at all. I thought I didn't understand the queer community culture, but once I found some labels I started finding places then I perfectly understood odd queer cultures, I just didn't understand the gay/trans/drag culture that's more mainstream; it's not that some are better, i just felt unincluded for so long and thought it was my fault. The main transphobic thing I feel is that whenever I see a trans flag displayed I just have this sinking feeling that I'm not welcome and I feel like they shouldn't have it up. Like the vars*x or genderqueer flag would include them too and it feels like people are cutting out this one identity to stand behind to be "inclusive" but it's just the tip of the iceberg and they don't understand. Trans spaces could easily be better and think they're perfectly accepting when I feel terrible whenever I stumble onto them.”
