Someone answered with kindness...

I think you should take it slow, focus on one thing rather than everything else

Before getting on calls or starting to text long distance friends (or any friends in general), take some time to ground yourself. Take a few deep breaths, maybe walk or do some jumping jacks, and let go of any stress you're holding. That way, when you meet your friends, you'll feel a little less stressed about life. Communication is also super important in these relationships. Tell your friends how you're feeling, and what's overwhelming you, so they can understand your state of mind. For the record, if you end up saying something you regret, even if you told them beforehand, you should still apologize for saying it. Life can be really difficult sometimes, and I think a lot of us forget that the people around us are supposed to soften it, and help us through tough times. So be sure to rely on your friends/family just as much as they rely on you!
