I've faced the same thing.... I'm in btech final yr, I've known a guy from inter and we started talking online in btech 2nd yr! We use to talk daily and I started liking him... As u said I've looked his online personality and offline personality was verryy different.... We started meeting often soo I confessed my feelings and we started dating since he also like me, but then it was verryy hard to date, we were tgt only for four month we still talk online, but offline we don't have tht spark, he thinks a lot to speak and obv even I started thinking a lot to talk since I was scared abut what he wuld think..... And slowly understood our compatibility is Verryy looww sooo may be think twice.... If u ppl r good frnds and don't feel awkward while meeting then maybe u can take a move

What i think is that if he is attracted to you as well, it's a good thing. Most of the boys lack confidence but when there is a girl in our life we gain the confidence we want. So just make sure he is actually interested in you. Once he starts dating you, slowly manipulate him to work on himself. Some very strong hints can be he has a good amount of spacial awareness when you are around with him. He tries to play tough infront of you so that he looks strong infront of you. You can start dating and in the relationship journey you can push up each other whenever needed. Like for example if he is not good in studies then you can help him by introducing him some youtube channels that can help him coupe with that. Many a times, we think to much about the future but in that thought process we later regret that why we didn't took the initiative earlier. So go for it and become strength for each other.
