i have a crush on someone 2 years younger than me im 23f he is 21m i tried to initiate conversation with him but he replies to the point i am an exchange student in his college which is a very top college in India , he is also one of my friends friend but i cant tell my friend that i like his frind since in the previous situation my crush has asked him about approaching some girls so that clears that he is not interested also he knows that i am in his college but he has never asked to meet or hang out in the campus, i am embarassed to ask him out since i am older how should i do it should i just take the hint that maybe he is not interested and mind you i have tried to initiate conversations with him

Well tbvh i am kinda in the same situation both age wise and the ask him out wise as well 
Tbvh if all that you are scared about is the age factor and that is why u are not taking your chance i feel like you would regret it later because it actually doesnt matter if you like someone. If you ask him out what could be the worst case scenario him rejecting, tbvh its better than liking him in silence and looking him with some another girl because that would feeling is so fking fucked up and once the time is out you might end up regretting not asking him at the end of the day it you, YOU WANNA DO IT FOR YOURSELF, u wanna keep him for yourself 
I wouldve have initiated mine too but its more complicated because its kinda mlm for me 
But for you it could work as wonders just atleast TRY
