Someone once asked...

“I had a best friend and she decided one day that we should no longer be friends. It has been a year and a half but it still hurts and comes back to me in waves. I feel I spend more time a day being sad about this than actually working on my applications for Universities. I don't know how to get out of this loop”

Im no expert on this, I've also lost a friend about a year ago and i've done everything, even practically begged for her back, but all that was doing was affecting my own mental health, even though it's hard, you have to move on because the reality is that no one stays with you forever, your applications for university should be near the top priority, because that is what affects your future. I know this isn't really much advice but I hope you know that someone else is also going through the same thing as you and that they have moved on from the person, but the memories still hit. Thats what makes life interesting and fun you know?

I think one of the best methods personal to get rid of someone's thoughts is just to lock in. It's gonna be uncomfortable at first but when you get the flow of it you'll soon realise you're thinking about sad stuff way less. And you might also enjoy the process of working towards your goals. I'd also recommend to do some physical activities.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. This is really heartbreaking. You have to distract and relax yourself first. For that, you need things to rely on. Whenever I'm in a hard time, I get myself a good addiction that gets me all the time and then slowly get back to life. I hope you find your happiness again :)
