It's okay..you don't always have to fit in. I had few friends who i apparently was close to but i realised once i stopped reaching out to them or making efforts they stopped caring. So it was always one sided. So it's better to be alone than be with the wrong company. I know as a teenager you think being popular or being cool is what matters the most but i swear it's the least important thing. What matters is being content. Be so confident and happy within yourself that you won't require someone popular to befriend you. Once you start working on yourself and keeping yourself happy the right ones will come find you. Take your time, you don't have to fit in somewhere you don't belong. You're doing great and someday the real ones will definitely find you. Lots of love

Wow I really feel you here. Been there, shifted schools a lot and this entire socializing phase was just hard, even as a new adult as much as it was as a teenager. I wished damn hard that somebody popular would just talk and introduce me to other people, and yeah I will finally make friends or just have the feel of being popular too. It's hard, and I won't say I don't feel sad looking back at how people found so many friends in middle school but I am also glad in having those 2 people who stuck throughout my life till now. You meet people, bond with them, drift apart eventually, but old or new, the only thing that would matter is probably how much you can be yourself with them. I was quiet and super introverted person who would just stick to my studies, and hey it wasn't that bad, I have found a few gems whom I can be crazy with or act super weird, I call my friends by being that, so it would work out for you too. Stay strong my friend :)
