Yes, having friends in class is fun. How you can start, baby steps: go to a person you want to be friends with and strike up a conversation related to the study material. And then slowly slowly you can strike up conversations about random stuff. Greet them whenever you see them or catch their eye. I know it is a basic advice but it works!!!
