“I dont know i have been thinking a lot of about work recently and not professionally - i mean I feel like at work you have to be friendly to network and get to know people but when i used to do that I didnt have the best experience people I mean it felt like people were only nice to me because they wanted to get something done from me or my team
Now since the last few weeks i have withdrawn a little from work i dont interact much outside of my team and i am not really interacting within my team
I sometimes think this might affect my network and I may not be as updated with things or just in touch with people but then again when i do network i dont have the most pleasant experiences i am mostly disappointed because I am friendly without any expectations and i dont see that in other people basically I have realised corporate is a place where you can have no foes or friends
So i have decided to just do my work earnestly network with the bosses and that's it and i have a great social life oitside of work so it doesnt really bother me i mean i have friends and my team that i always hangout with me but thats pretty much it
anyways i need some advice of should i just do what floats my boat? or am i making a mistake?”

Stop wearing masks of trying to be "too friendly" and "distant". Just be yourself, you are human after all.
Others are also humans, at the end, they care about themselves, that is their main priority, so just be yourself.
Try to interact with people you like, try to do whatever you like, not what your boss or others will like.
At the end, just be yourself and fuck around =)
