Someone once asked...

“I am not doing so good in college and im just a freshman with not a lot of money and im stressing out what should i do”

Someone answered with kindness...

I would talk to family or friends and try to get support first. If that's not an option I would try working another job and seeing if you can get therapy at college to help manage the stress. Also learning techniques for balancing personal life, school, and money.

First of all, if you're stressed about your financial situation, and ability to pay for college, talk to your advisors about how to get financial aid. They'll point you to resources that may be able to help. If you're just stressed about academics, and that's where you're not doing well, go to your professor's office hours often to clear up concepts you may not understand. Don't be afraid to ask questions in class or right after class, too. Your college will likely also have some sort of tutoring service (that is most likely free). Try signing up for that if you're still struggling to understand. Also, try to talk to the people around you in the class (easier said than done, I know, but at least try!), and maybe form study groups so you can be held accountable for what you need to know for the class. If you are struggling socially in college, try joining different clubs that are interesting to you, and meet people there. You could even get a job on campus, if you'd like, and meet people via your job. Plus, it'll be work experience you could to put on your resume, if you wanted. Lastly, college can definitely be really difficult, but it's not all bad! For a lot of people (including myself), it just takes time to settle in and get used to the new chapter of life. I'm sorry you're having such a rough time right now, and I hope it gets better! Much love <3
