Someone once asked...

“I am 22 (F, IN), graduated six months ago and moved back to my parents' house. I always wanted to pursue further studies abroad and move out of this country, but lately I hit a major roadblock: fear of returning to this hellhole after completing my degree. Obviously, there are other factors like financial issues, etc., and the other major roadblock is pivoting from my Science background to a Management background. In my final semester, I found out I really hated spending multiple hours in the lab. Now that I am in a spot where I can pivot, I am full of questions and don't want to regret my choices. The biggest contributor is the recent job market. Now, I am in an indecisive state, which is affecting my mental health and, of course, adding my toxic family into the picture. I would be very grateful for any kind of advice or suggestions. Thank You, XOXO”

Someone answered with kindness...

Hey we all hit that block sometime somewhere in our life. The main thing we have to do is supress all the suggestions and think what we really want to do. Yes choosing a path and later feeling it is not the right one is hard. You have made it so far in a path and to turn around will be basically to start from nothing. But if you keep going down the road that doesn't call you will be like going towards a dead end.. Dont hesitate to take a turn. It may look like you are travelling backwards in the meantime (Like switching from Science to Management). But in the long run you will than your past self for making that turn. So my point is if you want to change your path it's never too late to do it. And yes sometimes family can be tough but everything happens for a reason which we will realize soon. So whatever happens keep your heads high, dont loose your smile and keep moving ;)
