Someone once asked...

“how do you stay with friends who are fun to hang with but really bad for your mental health”

Someone answered with kindness...

Set healthy boundaries. It is important to have a social circle, but it just as important to protect your mental health. Ideally, people that are YOUR people should only help you feel better (emotionally, mentally etc. etc.) while being fun to hang out with. If these friends are excessively terrible, I'd recommend slowly cutting them off so you can make space for those who will nourish you rather than drain you. If they are somewhat decent, maybe just keep an arm's distance (meet them once a month instead of every week, avoid drinking with them and traveling to dangerous/unsafe places with them) Good luck :)
