Someone once asked...
Someone answered with kindness...
A man once told me he calculated, almost obsessively, how many years he had statistically left. I asked what he did with that number. "I panic," he said. "Then I waste the day panicking." Time anxiety convinces you that dread is productive, that fear will somehow make the clock behave. It doesn't. It just steals from the very time you're afraid of losing. You don't get more time by worrying about it running out. You get more life by spending the time you have on something other than the worry itself.
