Someone once asked...
Someone answered with kindness...
A woman once told me she'd "moved on completely" from a painful year — no tears, no mention of it, nothing. I asked her to tell me about that year anyway. Her voice went flat. Her hands stayed very still. She changed the subject twice before I'd finished the question. Healing usually still has some feeling left in it — sadness that visits and leaves, memories that sting less over time but aren't erased. Avoidance looks calmer, because nothing's being processed at all. If the topic feels like a locked door instead of an old scar, you're probably not done. You've just stopped looking.
