Well the cruise ship hull is likely segmented into multiple bulkheads or I think that's what there called anyway they are filled with air which helps it float plus the weight must be less than the water displacement this goes for pretty much every boat.

ohhhh yeah science question uhh basically because the steel of the cuise is hollow inside like the lower part yk. It's like a ball that floats in the water. It may be big but the inside is hollow. Also seawater is more dense than normal water which makes it denser right? With the seawater dense, it let materials less dense than it float so any materials that is less dense than seawater will basically float.
