Someone once asked...
Someone answered with kindness...
I have had a real issue with confidence in the last few years. I've been in so many rooms and had so many interactions where I feel like I don't have the right to be there, if that makes sense. He's got a more prestigious job, she's too attractive, she can speak better than me, etc. But whenever I feel myself thinking this, I have to take a moment to stop thinking about everything, and to remember one thing. We are all just humans, and nobody knows what their purpose is, or why they are really here on Earth. People find purpose in lots of different things, like religion or stoicism, but nobody truly knows. You honestly need to stop thinking about how you think other people see you, and be selfish and express yourself in the way that you want to, even if it feels uncomfortable. Especially when it feels uncomfortable. Sometimes you just have to say fuck it and throw yourself in at the deep end. And sometimes it takes time, where you have to celebrate the little things. But the only way to feel truly confident is to teach yourself to stop caring about how other people see you, and to embrace your failures. Do this through humour. You must learn to laugh at yourself when you fuck something up. If you don't feel confident to do a speech, and you make a few mistakes, stumbling over words etc., laugh at yourself after. So what?
