No, it does not mean surrender! Sometimes going back means you need time to heal. Sometimes it means you’ve realized what matters to you. Sometimes it means you’re returning to something familiar because you’re not ready for what comes next. Surrender is not the same as stepping back. You can change direction without abandoning yourself. You can admit you were wrong without being weak. You can even return to something without returning as the same person you were before. Sometimes courage means continuing forward. Sometimes it means turning around. And sometimes it means knowing when not to go back at all.
