Someone once asked...
Someone answered with kindness...
Yes. Sometimes loving someone doesn't mean staying. You can love someone and still know that the relationship is no longer where you can be well, or where you can grow. You can care deeply about someone and still recognize that being together is hurting one or both of you. Saying goodbye doesn't necessarily erase what you felt. Sometimes it means accepting that love, by itself, isn't enough to make a life together work. And that's one of the hardest things about leaving: you may not leave because you stopped loving them. You may leave while you still do. You don't have to turn love into resentment just to make goodbye easier. You can miss them. You can love them. And still walk away. Some goodbyes aren't proof that love failed. Sometimes they're proof that you finally accepted what love couldn't fix.
Another soul answered...
Just because you still love someone doesn’t mean you have to stay in that relationship.
